A natural beauty lift with the body’s own material. Restylane® is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin.

Q) Why Restylane?
A) Restylane maintains its shape using the body's own moisture. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is hydrophilic or "water loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic acid to bind to water is what helps provide lasting results.

Q) What can Restylane do?
A) Restylane is best used to replace lost volume in skin and lips. The most popular place is in the nasolabial folds (laugh lines around the mouth). It can be used to enhance the lips, whether you are looking for full luscious lips or you are just looking to replace lost volume and get your lips looking they way they did a few years ago. It can also be used to fill in deep lines between the brows and is often used in conjunction with Botox®. Restylane can also be safely used to fill in imperfections such as acne scars with excellent long term results.

Q) Is Restylane safe?
A) Restylane has been used in more than 4 million treatments in over 70 countries and is now approved in the U.S. for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds. Based on clinical studies, Restylane treatments produce a low occurrence of adverse events. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve in less than seven days. Unlike the previous collagens that were derived from animal and human tissue, Restylane does not require skin testing. It more naturally mimics your own tissue. No long term reactions or serious complications have been reported with Restylane.

Q) Is the procedure painful?
A) The injections can be uncomfortable, however, there are various anesthesia methods available. Ice can help provide numbing and minimize bruising and a topical anesthetic is used, making the procedure very tolerable. A dental block will be offered when treating the lips.

Q) What happens after the treatment?
A) Although there is minimal discomfort after the treatment. ice can be applied as needed to help with swelling and discomfort. We ask that you refrain from touching the area for the next 6 hours and wash your hands thoroughly before you do to minimize infection. If your lips were injected it is wise to avoid any excessive pursing for the next 24 hours.

Q) Does the Restylane take effect right away and how long does it last?
A) Results are immediate and once the numbing medicine wears off the swelling seems to dramatically decrease. Over the next 1-2 weeks the Restylane® will continue to add volume and improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
